A digital Warm-up filter!

Here’s a great little technique that works in both Photoshop and Elements and allows you to warm up the colours as you see fit.

Open up your image and hit Ctrl+L on the keyboard to bring up the Levels dialogue box. At the top of the Levels window, click on the drop-down menu next to Channel and select Red. Below the histogram graph, click on the central grey triangle slider (circled right) and drag it a little way to the left so it reads around 1.20 in the box above. This will add some red to the image. Next select the Blue channel form the drop-down menu and drag the grey slider to the right to add some yellow to the scene – it should read around 0.70 in the middle box above. Once you’re happy with the effect, click OK to accept the changes.
